Why we do not currently offer the 432 Hz tuning fork
The 432 Hz tuning fork is often associated with special harmonic properties. However, after many years of practical experience with tuning forks, we have found that other frequencies are significantly more effective and versatile for sound therapy and bodywork.
A common misconception is the belief that a 432 Hz tuning fork is necessary to experience what is known as the ‘432 Hz tuning’.
An attempt at an explanation: The 432 Hz tuning is the fundamental tuning of an orchestra.
The note A at 432 Hz sets the reference. However, music is only created through the interplay of all the notes. That is why the notes listed below – c' 256 Hz, g' 384 Hz, C 128 Hz or OM 136.1 Hz – naturally form part of the 432 Hz tuning, even though the number 432 is not marked on the tuning fork.
ALL tuning forks offered in the shop are tuned to the 432 Hz fundamental pitch.
For acoustic perception and working with harmonic intervals, we recommend the combination of our tuning forks:
c' 256 Hz
g' 384 Hz
These tones are based on the fundamental pitch a' = 432 Hz.
Together they produce the perfect fifth, one of the most fundamental and tonally stable intervals in the natural scale. The interplay of these two frequencies is perceived by many people as particularly balanced.
During the treatment, two tuning forks are held close to the ear. This creates a sensation of being enveloped by this harmonic interval. It is a richer and more vibrant sound experience than a single 432 Hz tuning fork.
For body treatments: lower frequencies are more easily felt
When a tuning fork is placed directly on the body, it is not only the audible tone but, above all, the perceptible vibration that plays an important role.
At 432 Hz, the frequency is already relatively high. When placed on the body, the vibration is verysubtle and often barely perceptible.
For applications on the body, we therefore recommend lower frequencies, in particular:
These frequencies produce significantly stronger and more palpable vibrations, which are pleasantly transmitted via the tuning fork’s resonating body to muscles, tissue and bones.
Our recommendation
For harmonious sound experiences and the experience of natural intervals: C 256 Hz and G 384 Hz (perfect fifth)
For applications directly on the body: 128 Hz Universal and Master Tuning Forks or OM 136.1 Hz
